Public Note for CCDS 10174.1
The coding region has been updated to extend the N-terminus based on the presence of an upstream translation start codon, which is conserved in human and Rhesus macaque. A possible downstream start codon, which shows better cross-species conservation, would shorten the protein by 121 aa. The shorter protein is described in the literature, including PMID:7954800. No experimental evidence exists to show which start codon is used in vivo.

Public since: CCDS release 1, NCBI annotation release 35.1, Ensembl annotation release 23

Review status: Reviewed (by RefSeq, Havana and CCDS collaboration)
