The coding region has been updated to a different splice variant that extends the N-terminus to represent a splice variant that is more supported by available conservation data and publications. The upstream AUG in this variant has a relatively stronger AUG codon for translation initiation. This update is based on the full-length CDS of DQ228672.1 (note that its first 7 nts represent the end of exon 1) and on evidence for this variant in PMID:16893518 (Casp-5/a).
