In some systems, the biotin carboxyl carrier protein and this protein (biotin carboxylase) may be shared by different carboxyltransferases. However, this model is not intended to identify the biotin carboxylase domain of propionyl-coA carboxylase. The allophanate hydrolase domain of the yeast enzyme is not included in this model and is represented by an adjacent gene in Oleomonas sagaranensis. The fusion of urea carboxylase and allophanate hydrolase is designated urea amidolyase.
