Pyridine and its derivatives are widely used as industrial solvents, but also some pesticides, medicine, daily necessities, dyes, spices and other important raw materials or intermediates, therefore, in many industrial wastewater such as coking wastewater, pharmaceutical wastewater, dye wastewater can be detected in a large number of pyridine.
Pyridine is toxic, carcinogenic, teratogen, easy to enrich in the biological body, long-term human inhalation, ingestion or direct exposure to the skin will produce a lot of harm, such as anesthesia of the central nervous system, causing dizziness, headache, insomnia and digestive tract dysfunction and other adverse symptoms.
In this study, a pyridine degrading strain, which was characterized as Rhodococcus sp., was screened from industrial wastewater collected from a coking plant in Linyi, Shandong Province. The bacteria was identified as Gram-postive, and the colony was orange-red, round and dry. In this study, we hope to improve the salt-tolerance of Rhodococcus sp. by adaptive evolution in the laboratory, so as to better play its application in the treatment of industrial wastewater containing pyridine. In order to explore the salt-tolerant elements, the genomic differences of strains before and after domestication were also compared. Less...
