More...Fibrinolytic or thrombolytic enzymes are proteases enzyme that stimulate the thinning process of the blood clot; therefore, it is very important in the healing therapy of cardiovascular diseases such as heart disease, atherosclerosis, and hypertension. Until now, research on the discovery and development of bioactive compounds and fibrinolytic (anti-coagulant) enzymes are still being conducted to discover for new enzymes, especially from microoroganisms that work specific endogenously. Studies on the fibrinolytic enzyme from microbial endophytes isolated from papaya (Carica papaya L.) are lacking in Indonesia, whereas, C. papaya is the main source of protease enzymes. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out study on the potential of endophytic microbes associated with C. papaya in producing fibrinolytic enzymes. The objectives of this study include characterization and optimization of fibrinolytic enzyme produced by Bacillus cereus InaCC B1657 and Bacillus subtilis Inacc B1658, which are indigenous Indonesian microbial endophytes isolated from C. papaya, and molecular characterization of the fibrinolytic enzyme-producing microbial endophytes.
