This study used transposon sequencing (Tnseq) to predict genes essential for Xylella fastidiosa growth in plants. Tn5 transposon mutant pools of Xylella fastidiosa M23 were inoculated into susceptible grapevines and almond plants, and re-isolated after ten weeks.
