Sulfurimonas hongkongensis AST-10 was a strictly anaerobic denitrifying, hydrogen- and sulfur-oxidizing chemolithoautotroph isolated from marine sediment. It was also identified as a novel species with specific functions such as nitrogen and sulfur metabolisms in marine anoxic environments.
