More...Pistachio is one of the most important cash crops in Iran that is scattered in arid and semi-arid regions. During a survey of plant-parasitic nematodes of pistachio in Ardakan city in Yazd Province, , a species of root lesion nematode was isolated and identified by morphological, morphometric and molecular characters as Pratylenchus oleae Palomares-Rius, Guesmi, Horrigue-Raouani, Cantalapiedra-Navarrete, Liebanas and Castillo, 2014. This species was isolated from the rhizosphere of several pistachio trees. The morphometrical characters fit as those of Pratylenchus oleae. For molecular approach using, 28S-rDNA, along with the related phylogenetic analysis, placed this species in a group with other Pratylenchus oleae isolates. Pistachio is being reported as a new host for Pratylenchus oleae in the world.
