Spheniscus humboldti (Humboldt penguin) genome, bSphHub1

See Genome Information for Spheniscus humboldti
The Humboldt penguin (Spheniscus humboldti) is a medium-sized penguin. It resides in South America, with its range containing mainly most of coastal Peru (from Wikipedia entry). This sample was procured by Mads Bertelsen from a female in the Copenhagen Zoo, in Denmark, and used to generate a high-quality reference genome for the Vertebrate Genomes Project (VGP). Sequencing and genome assembly were conducted at the Vertebrate Genomes Lab (VGL) at the Rockefeller University, led by Olivier Fedrigo and Erich D. Jarvis, with funding support from Tom Gilbert and Jarvis.
