Listeria monocytogenes strain EGD-e. This strain has numerous pathogenicity islands and genes as compared to the related non-pathogenic organism Listeria innocua. This strain is serovar 1/2a and is derived from the strain EGD that was used in studies of cell-mediated immunity.
