Bangladesh, home to the world's largest delta, boasts unparalleled biodiversity within both terrestrial and marine ecosystems. While not abundant in mineral resources, the country's ecological wealth represents a potential gold mine for advancing the bioeconomy. This project is meticulously crafted with the overarching goal of unlocking the latent potential within Bangladesh's rich biodiversity. Specifically, we aim to harness the capabilities of plant probiotic bacteria to propel sustainable crop production and initiate a transformative era in bioprospecting. By leveraging the intricate relationships between plants and probiotic bacteria, this endeavor seeks to optimize agricultural practices, ensuring both environmental sustainability and economic prosperity for the nation. We use genomics and postgenomics approaches to discover elite strains of plant probiotic bacteria and their interactions with plants under biotic and abiotic stressful conditions. The wealth of knowledge will be utilized for sustainable crop production under the changing climate.
