Identification of brain and gonadal gene expression patterns involved in sex change in a protogynous teleost fish, the black sea bass (Centropristis striata)

Brain and gonadal RNA was extracted from female, male, and precocious sex changing black sea bass (<1 year old, protogynous sex change) and sequenced using Illumina HiSeq 3000 with 150 bp paired end reads. All fish were wild caught and maintained in a recirculating aquaculture system prior to sampling.
