The Cryptosporidium muris strain RN66 whole genome shotgun (WGS) project was deposited into GenBank under the project accession AAZY00000000. The current version of the WGS project (version 02) is AAZY02000000.
Project AAZY02000000 consists of 97 contigs and represents a 13x hybrid sequencing coverage (approximately 4.5x Sanger and 10x 454) of the genome.
An update to this assembly containing 84 multi-component and singleton scaffolds with some annotation is available on GenBank under accessions DS989726-DS989809.
The Institute for Genomic Research (TIGR) has also sequenced and submitted EST sequences from a C. muris (strain RN66) oocyst cDNA library.
Manual annotation of this genome will be possible by validating with the EST data and by comparing with the genome sequence data of C. hominis and C. parvum. Moreover, the C. muris sequence data will enable comparative genomic studies between exisiting Cryptosporidium genomes. Less...
