Description

In this study we performed comparative transcriptomics on RNA from the methanogenic archaeon, Methanosarcina barkeri, which was grown in liquid culture at both 30C and 0C under high concentrations of perchlorates, highly oxidizing chaotropic salts which have been found across the Martian surface.
