isolation and growth conditionCCS166 was isolated from the rind of a washed-rind cheese by plating on PCAMS (5 g/L tryptone, 2.5 g/L yeast extract, 1g/L dextrose, 1 g/L whole milk powder, 10 g/L sodium chloride and 15 g/L agar) containing 100 g/ml cycloheximide to select against the fungal community members and incubation at 15 C for 4 days and an additional 3 days at room temperature on the bench top. A single colony was streak-purified on PCAMS three times. Overnight cultures of the isolate were grown for 24 hours at room temperature in LB Miller broth and flash-frozen in liquid nitrogen in PBS+20% glycerol. Glycerol stocks were stored at -80 C.
