Description

Although the immune signaling pathways and their effectors are well understood in insects, much less information is available in ticks. This study aimed to determine the effectors of immune signaling pathways (Toll, Imd and Jak/Stat) of the tick Rhipicephalus microplus, using BME26 cells as model. To that end, cells were treated with specific dsRNAs of Dorsal, Relish, Stat or MSP1 (merozoite surface protein of Plasmodium; control) and the transcriptome was assessed by RNA-seq.
