Description

The bottlenose dolphin is the most common species of the family Delphinidae, and one of the best studied vocal learning mammals. This sample was collected as part of family trio of bottlenose dolphins. This sample is from a deceased male calf also from the National Aquarium Child. The parents are an adult female housed at the National Aquarium, an adult male housed at Gulf World. This trio is currently being used to generate chromosomal level reference assembly as part of the G10K-VGP Project.
