Summary:
This program describes and demonstrates by means of a prosected cadaver, the anatomical features of the axilla, a pyramidal space located between the upper part of the chest and the medial side of the arm. The program includes the blood vessels, nerves and lymph nodes which are found in the area. After completing the dissection of the pectoralis major muscle, the presentation identifies such structures as the axillary fascia, latissimus dorsi muscle, axillary vessels and their branches and axillary sheath. The program discusses in considerable detail the structures which comprise the brachial plexus.
