Schematic representation of the complex between eubacterial TyrRS and tRNATyr. The α/β, α-helical, and C-terminal domains are schematized. The α-helical and C-terminal domains are linked by a flexible peptide. The active site is represented as a black disk in the α/β domain. The acceptor arm (ac) of tRNATyr interacts with the α/β domain of one TyrRS subunit and its variable (va) and anticodon (an) arms interact with the α-helical and C-terminal domains of the other subunit (see text for references).
