Acknowledgements

The Department of Reproductive Health and Research (RHR) of the World Health Organization (WHO) gratefully acknowledges the contributions that many individuals and organizations made to the development of this guideline. Work on this guideline was initiated and coordinated by Mariana Widmer and A. Metin Gülmezoglu of the RHR Department. Olufemi Oladapo and Özge Tunçalp, also of the RHR Department, provided technical support.

WHO extends sincere thanks to Steven Arrowsmith, Mark Barone, Sohier Elneil, Serigne Gueye, Farzana Wali Jebran, Aseefa Mekonnen, Mulu Muleta, Dolores Nembunzu, Oladosu Ojengbede and Lauri Romanzi, who served as members of the Guideline Development Group (GDG), and to Torvid Kiserud, for chairing the WHO Technical Consultation on Duration of Catheterization after Surgical Repair of Simple Obstetric Fistula, at WHO headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, in May 2017.

The guideline methodologists, Maria Regina Torloni and Ewelina Rogosinska, reviewed the scientific evidence, prepared the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation (GRADE) tables and drafted the narrative summaries of evidence used in this guideline. Mariana Widmer revised the narrative summaries and double-checked the corresponding GRADE tables. A. Metin Gülmezoglu, Olufemi Oladapo, Özge Tunçalp (of the RHR Department) and Maurice Bucagu (of the WHO Department of Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health) commented on the draft document before it was reviewed by participants at the Technical Consultation. Mrutyunjaya B. Bellad, Dame Tina Lavender, Alemnesh H. Mirkuzie and Alfred Osoti were members of the External Review Group who peer-reviewed the final guideline document.

We acknowledge the various organizations that were represented as observers at the Technical Consultation, including Erin Anastasi (United Nations Population Fund [UNFPA]), Erin Mielke (United States Agency for International Development [USAID]) and Gillian Slinger (International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics [FIGO]).

USAID provided financial support for this work. The views of the funding body have not influenced the content of this guideline.
