(Submitter supplied) Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) are shed by cancer into the bloodstream, where a viable subset overcomes oxidative stress to initiate metastatic outgrowth. Here we show that CTCs from patients with BRAF-mutant melanoma coordinately upregulate both lipogenesis and iron homeostasis pathways.
