Transcriptome analysis of mesothelioma induced by intraperitoneal injections of ferric saccharate in rats

(Submitter supplied) Iron plays an important role in oxidative tissue damage and subsequent carcinogenesis. Iron deposition in the peritoneum causes neoplastic changes. Here we used gene expression microarrays to find common genetic alterations in a rat model by repeated intraperitoneal injections of ferric saccharate. Gene expression microarray revealed the expression of uromodulin (Umod) is increased in mesothelioma approximately 250-fold.

Agilent-014879 Whole Rat Genome Microarray 4x44K G4131F (Probe Name version)

(Submitter supplied) With a focus on well known rat genes and homologues to human and mouse genes with useful annotation, Agilent's Whole Rat Genome Oligo – 4X44K microarray provides researchers with a new tool for modeling human biology in the rat model organism. For researchers, this means they now have access to a microarray made up of relevant content that has been empirically validated by Agilent. *** The ID column includes the Agilent Probe Names. more...
