Expression data from SNU-449 cells transfected with USP48

(Submitter supplied) Deubiquitinating enzymes (DUBs) are divided into seven subgroups based on sequence and structure and perform the roles of mediating the deubiquitination of substrate proteins, regulating protein function, and participating in various cellular life activities. Among them, the ubiquitin-specific protease family (USP) is the DUB subtype with the most members and structural diversity discovered so far. USP48 is a member of the USP family of ubiquitin-specific proteases and has been found to promote glioblastoma by deubiquitinating the Gli1 transcription factor and to promote the progression of non-small-cell lung cancer through inhibition of the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway. We used microarrays to detail changes in gene expression regulated by USP48 overexpression in HCC cells.

Expression data from AGS cells with Helicobacter pylori infection

(Submitter supplied) Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is a human pathogen that infects almost half of the world’s population. Infection with H. pylori is frequently associated with chronic gastritis and can even lead to gastric and duodenal ulcers and gastric cancer. Although the persistent colonization of H. pylori and the development of H. pylori-associated gastritis remain poorly understood, it is believed that, in gastric mucosa, the modulated gastric epithelial cells (GECs) by H. more...

Expression data from adipose tissue macrophages of mice with or without moderate aerobic exercise

(Submitter supplied) ATMs, which can constitute up to 50% of the cells in adipose tissue of obese mice 5, play a pivotal role in both metabolic and immune regulation of adipose tissue. This is particularly evident in both healthy states and in conditions associated with metabolic syndrome. To delve into the precise mechanisms of the ATMs in response to exercise, we utilized exercise-induced primary ATMs and miRNAs microarray to investigate the effects of an 8-week aerobic exercise training on ATMs. more...

Osteopontin drives neuroinflammation and cell loss in MAPT-N279K frontotemporal dementia patient neurons

(Submitter supplied) Frontotemporal dementia (FTD) is an incurable group of early-onset dementias that can be caused by deposition of hyperphosphorylated tau in patient brains. However, the mechanisms leading to neurodegeneration remain largely unknown. Here, we combined single-cell analyses of FTD patient brains with a stem cell culture and transplantation model of FTD. We identified disease phenotypes in FTD neurons carrying the MAPT-N279K mutation, which were related to oxidative stress, oxidative phosphorylation and neuroinflammation with an upregulation of the inflammation-associated protein osteopontin (OPN). more...

Acute Changes in Rat Tissue Gene Expression Following Exposure to Flight Relevant Hypobaria

(Submitter supplied) Aeromedical evacuation (AE) is an important tool for transit of injured patients, but both the hypobaria and hyperoxia associated with AE may contribute to secondary injury. We aimed to examine the effects of these acute exposures on gene expression while avoiding the inflammatory storm that would result from injury and potentially mask underlying causes of AE-related secondary injury. We exposed healthy, young male rats to different levels of hypobaria (4000 ft or 8000 ft eqiv.) and/or hyperoxia (100% oxygen) for different durations of time (5 or 10 h). more...

miRNA expression data from HPC-EVs

(Submitter supplied) EVs derived from HPCs could affect the progression of S. japonicum-induced fibrosis. Considering the EVs’ cargo, small RNAs account for a large proportion of cargoes in EVs, and act as one of the critical post-transcriptional regulators in cell-to-cell communication. Among them, miRNAs are the most studied and their regulatory roles in host–pathogen interactions are increasingly clear. HPCs are a kind of stem cells with potentially bidirectional differentiation ability and interact with hepatic stellate cells during liver injury. more...

Transcriptomics analysis highlights potential ways in human pathogenesis in Leishmania braziliensis infected with the viral endosymbiont LRV1

(Submitter supplied) Leishmania (Viannia) braziliensis is a parasite prevalent in Brazil and associated with tegumentary leishmaniasis (TL), including cutaneous (CL) and mucosal (ML) forms. The mechanisms of pathogenesis of TL are not fully understood, including some factors related to the host and parasite interaction in response to infection, and especially about Leishmania RNA Virus 1 (LRV1), an endosymbiont virus parasitizing Leishmania species, particularly triggers ML. more...

Effects of re-expressed RASSF1A on gene expression in rhabdoid tumor of the kidney cells.

(Submitter supplied) Several groups reported the correlation between hypermethylation of RASSF1A and aggressiveness or a poor outcome in various pediatric tumors, including Wilms tumor. In addition, it is known that the overexpression of RASSF1A promotes apoptotic cell cycle arrest and reduces the tumorigenicity. In an attempt to identify epigenetic targets related to the biological features of rhabdoid tumor of the kidney (RTK), we analyzed the methylation level of the RASSF1A gene in RTK. more...

Gene expression profiling of multiregional primary colorectal cancer tissue samples

(Submitter supplied) We have analyzed transcriptomic intra-tumor heterogeneity among 2-4 multiregional samples from each of 98 primary colorectal cancers. We investigated the level and prognostic value of intra-tumor heterogeniety of the consensus molecular subtypes, and identified subtypes more robust to heterogeneity based on genes with uniform expression levels across tumor regions.
