Summary
This genomic sequence contains two overlapping regions that were predicted to be cell type-specific enhancers based on chromatin state analysis from the ENCODE (ENCyclopedia Of DNA Elements) project. Both regions were validated as functional enhancers by high-throughput massively parallel reporter assays (MPRAs) in liver carcinoma HepG2 cells, and one region was also active in K562 erythroleukemia cells. These overlapping enhancers contain two conserved motifs for the NFE2L2 activator. Mutation of either motif results in reduced enhancer activity. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2017]
