    What's a GeneRIF?
    1. Report shows that the histone chaperone Hif1, known to interact with histones H3-H4, is also a specific chaperone for the H2A-H2B dimer. The complex structure reveals that Hif1 utilizes different mechanisms for binding H2A-H2B and H3-H4, with implications for the mechanisms underlying nucleosome assembly.

    2. Hif1 consists of a superhelixed TPR (tetratricopeptide repeat) domain and an extended acid loop covering rear of TPR domain, which represent typical characteristics of SHNi-TPR [Sim3 (start independent of mitosis 3)-Hif1-NASP interrupted TPR] proteins.
