Echinococcus granulosus, a tapeworm, can be transmitted to humans where a hydatid cyst can form

The tapeworm, can infect humans. Tapeworm eggs, when ingested, can migrate to different tissues and form a hydatid cyst. These cysts can form over the course of years, and can prove fatal.
