Title Arginine-dependent gene regulation in Streptococcus gordonii ahrC regulator knockout
Platform organism Streptococcus gordonii
Sample organism Streptococcus gordonii str. Challis
Experiment type Expression profiling by array
Summary We have previously shown that responses of the oral bacterium Streptococcus gordonii to arginine are co-ordinated by three paralogous regulators: ArcR, ArgR and AhrC. This set of experiments was designed to assess the effects of the AhrC gene regulator on global gene expression in Streptococcus gordonii under high arginine or following a shift to no arginine.

Overall design Single colour microarrays were used to measure gene expression in four biological replicates of S. gordonii cells cultured, with and without arginine restriction. One replicate of 'arg+' was identified as an outlier and was not processed for normalised data. The raw data text file for this data set (US92200305_254184610003_S01_GE1_107_Sep09_1_2.txt) has been included in the supplementary files.
