Title |
Expression data from intestine samples of mice lacking intestinal Pcyt1a, which encodes an enzyme that reguates phosphatidylcholine synthesis. |
Organism |
Mus musculus |
Experiment type |
Expression profiling by array
|
Summary |
Phosphatidylcholine is a membrane lipid. To determine its role in the intestine, we deleted the gene that produces this lipid specificallly in intestinal epithelial cells and conducted expression analysis. We used microarray analysis to determine changes in gene expression that occur in the absence of intestinal phosphatidylcholine synthesis.

Overall design |
Mice lacking intestinal Pcyt1a and their Pcyt1a-positive controls were fasted overnight and re-fed a high fat diet. We then extracted RNA and hybridized to Affymetrix microarrays. Samples were collected from the geometric middle of the small intestine (jejunum).
