Title in vivo neurogenesis based electromagnetized gold nanoparticles
Organism Mus musculus
Experiment type Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing
Summary Electromagnetized gold nanopartilces can facilitate hippocampal neurogenesis.
Overall design Male C57BL/6 mice were used. For the surgery, the mice were anesthetized with avertin and placed in a stereotaxic frame, after which the AuNPs were injected into the hippocampus at fixed coordinates [anteroposterior (AP): -2.18 mm, mediolateral (ML): ± 1.2 mm, dorsoventral (DV): -2 mm] for 4 min at a 0.5 μl min-1 rate using a 26-gauge 10 μl Hamilton syringe. The mice were then placed in the middle of a pane between two coils at 3 weeks exposure. One pair of Helmholtz coils was used for both the control and AuNPs groups with EMF exposure.
