Description |
Genomic DNA was extracted after growth in brain heart infusion broth Two µg of genomic DNA from each isolate was digested with AluI then purified using the QIAquick PCR purification kit (Qiagen). Cy3 and Cy5 were directly incorporated during cDNA synthesis and the probe was hybridized to TIGR version2 Staphylococcus aureus arrays. Slide data was obtained using IMAGENE.

Data processing |
The data was normalized and analyzed using freely available filters and plug-in applications for the BioArray Software Environment (BASE) (available at http://base.thep.lu.se). The data was subjected to a global median ratio and Lowess transformation. The fold ratio of the background-corrected mean signal intensities for each gene ID in the data set were calculated.
