The U251 xenografts were treated daily for 18 days with 30 mg/kg 13-cis retinoic acid (RA), or 30 mg/kg Thalidomide (Thal), or by both drugs in combination (RA_Thal), dissolved in refined sesame oil and administered via intragastric tubes

1.5 x 10^6 U251 human glioblastoma cells were inocculated s.c. into the right hind limb of athymic female nude mice. Palpable tumours developed within 8 to 10 days.

Data processing |
The data were analyzed with a commercial software called JMP Genomics, version 7, from SAS. Gene expression profiling was performed using arrays of HuGene-1_0-st-type from Affymetrix. A Custom CDF Version 17 with Entrez based gene definitions was used to annotate the arrays. The Raw fluorescence intensity values were normalized applying quantile normalization, RMA background correction and Medianpolish Probeset Summary
