Treatment protocol At 5 weeks of age, they were randomly divided into 4 groups of 10 mice per each group and fed a normal diet (ND), high-fat diet (HFD), HFD + 0.25% (w/w) green tea ethanol extract (GT), HFD + 3% (w/w) Taeeumjowitang (TJ) for 12 weeks
Growth protocol Forty male C57BL/6J mice (four-week-old, male) were obtained from the Jackson Laboratories (Bar Harbor, ME, USA). All mice were individually housed under a constant temperature (24°C) and 12-h light/dark cycle and, fed a normal chow diet for acclimation for 1 week after arrival.
Extracted molecule total RNA
Extraction protocol Total RNA was extracted from the adipose tissue using TRIZOL reagent (Invitrogen Life Technologies, NY) according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Quality control was performed with Agilent Bioanalyzer.
Libraries were constructed from mRNA using the Illumina TruSeq RNA Sample Prep Kit following manufacturer's protocols.
