This library represents a Cancer Genome Anatomy Project libray, which was either produced through CGAP funding, or donated to CGAP. The Cancer Genome Anatomy project (CGAP:http://cgap.nci.nih.gov) is an interdisplinary program established and administered by the National Cancer Institute (NCI:http://www.nci.nih.gov) to generate the information and technological tools needed to decipher the molecular anatomy of the cancer cell. Swarm rat chondrosarcoma (SRC) tumor line JWS was grown subcutaneously for 21 days in Sprague-Dawely male rats. The subcutaneous Swarm rat chondrosarcoma JWS tumor was then harvested and transplanted into the proximal tibia of 8 week old male Sprague-Dawely rats. Forty-two days post tibia Swarm rat chondrosarcoma transplantation the rats were euthanized, and Swarm rat chondrosarcoma tumor was collected from the lungs. Swarm rat chondrosarcoma JWS lung tumors from five separate rats were pooled for RNA isolation and this RNA was used for the construction of the SAGE library HR0. Vector: pUC-18 R. Site1:Sma1 R.
