Treatment protocol |
Two mice were housed in the partitioned cage for 1 month to establish territorial consciousness (single housing); then the partition was removed to expose the mice to the confrontational stress, and subsequently, the two mice cohabited in the same cage (confrontational housing).

Growth protocol |
Mice at 4 weeks of age were housed in a group of six in a cage for 5 days to habituate them to novel conditions. The mice were then divided into two groups, namely confrontationally and group housed. In brief, for confrontational housing, a standard polycarbonate cage was divided into two identical subunits by a stainless-steel partition.
