Lysates were purified using Nuleospin RNA (Macherey-Nagel, cat# 740955.250) Libraries were prepared according to NuGEN’s instructions accompanying the NuGEN Ovation RNA-seq kit (NuGENcat #7102-32). RNA-seq libraries were amplified using 10 cycles.

Sequencing reads were aligned to human genome assembly hg19 (NCBI version 37) using STAR 2.5.0 with default options Read counts representing gene expression levels were calculated by using STAR 2.5.0 with default options. Genes with the mean of DESeq2-normalized counts (“baseMean”) > 10 are considered to be expressed, and genes with non-adjusted P value < 0.001 are consider to be Differential expressed genes (DEG).
