Treatment protocol |
After maturation of macrophage precursors, the cells were washed and incubated for 4 hours with or without L. major promoastigotes. The cells were then washed free of unbound parasites and incubated for 24hours before harvesting for RNA preparation.

Growth protocol |
Bone marrow-derived macrophages from 6 mice each of C57BL/6, BALB/c, C.B6-(lmr1, lmr2) and B6.c-(lmr1, lmr2) were cultured for 3 days in the presence of FCS and L-cell conditioned media. After 2 days, adherent cells were discarded. This served to removed any fibroblasts present in the culture. The remaining cells were cultured for a further 4 days allowing non-adherent macrophage precursors to mature and adhere to the culture dish.
