| Treatment protocol |
A549 cells were cultured in 6 well plated with IA, DI or without any treatment for 24 hours. Followed by 24 hour pre-treatment, cell were either infected or not with Influena A virus and kept in respective treatments for 24 hours.

A549 cells were cultured in DMEM media supplemented with 10% FCS and glutamax.

| Extraction protocol |
mRNA was extracted and purified from A549 cells using MN NucleoSpin RNA kit.
Complementary RNA (cRNA) amplification and coversion to biotinylated double-stranded cDNA (ds-cDNA) was done by Clariom™ S Pico Assay, human Affymetrix protocol from10 ng total RNA (GeneChip® Pico UserGuide 703308 Rev. 4 Affymetrix).

Hybridization was done for 16 hrs at conditions recommended by the manufacturer. Clariom™ S chips were washed and stained in the Affymetrix Fluidics Station 450.
