Treatment protocol |
One portion for every 25 g of Sumai 3, Zhongmai 66B and Annong 0711 wheat grains was plated into a 100 mL sterile conical flask, and the initial aw of the wheat kernel was 0.572, which was confirmed by using a Novasina Labmaster-Neo water activity meter (Novasina, Inc., WA, Swit). Then, sterile distilled water was added to rehydrate to aw: 0.99. The incubation process was carried out in 20 ℃ and humidity (50%) incubator.

Growth protocol |
Two 5 mm-diameter colonies taken from the edge of F. graminearum strains that were cultivated on PDA medium at 25 ℃ for 5 days.

Total RNA was extracted using RNAiso Plus Kits (Takara, China) according to the manufacturer’s recommendation. To eliminate genomic DNA contamination, the DNase I (TaKara, China) was used. RNA libraries were prepared for sequencing using standard Illumina protocols
