Total RNA was extracted from the cortex of kidneys or NRK-52E cells using TRIzol (Life Technologies, Carlsbad, CA) and Direct-zol RNA MiniPrep (Zymo Research, Irvine, CA) Library preparation was performed using a TruSeq stranded mRNA sample prep kit (Illumina, San Diego, CA) according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
