Total RNA was extracted from each sample using RNeasy Mini Kit (Qiagen) following the supplier’s instructions. Then, RNA samples were quantified using a NanoDrop™ 8000 spectrophotometer and RNA integrity was measured by Agilent Bioanalyzer 2100. All samples showed an RNA integrity number ≥ 7).
