Treatment protocol |
Inoculations with Magnaporthe strains were performed on rice plantlets 2 wk after sowing by spraying with conidial suspensions. Rice plants were then kept for 16 h in a controlled climatic chamber at 25°C and 95% relative humidity. Plants were then transferred back to the glasshouse according to Faivre-Rampant et al. 2008 (doi: 10.1111/j.1469-8137.2008.02621.x)

Plants grown in a glasshouse under a day-time temperature of 27°C, a night-time temperature of 22°C and 60% humidity.

Total RNA of each biological replicate was purified, using the TRIZOL protocol (Invitrogen, Carlsbad, CA), following the manufacturer's instructions.

Data processing |
The data were analysed in R 2.12.0 applying the RMA algorithm from affy package. The default settings for all normalization procedures were used as implemented in the BioConductor.
