PCR amplification and automated sequence analysis of the transthyretin (TTR) exons 1 to 4. The primer sequences used for this analysis were designed by us and are available upon request. Both forward and reverse sequence analyses are performed using the Applied Biosystems Big Dye Terminator V1.1 cycle sequencing kit and the Applied Biosystems 3130xl Genetic Analyser. The resulting data is automatically compared with the normal TTR sequence as listed in the GenBank database (Accession: NT_010966, Region: 10660832..10668074, Version: NT_010966.13 , GI: 29823167 of 28-April-2003), the SeqScape 2.7 software.
