Comments about the test interpretation (e.g. clinical implication of test results)

A positive result is indicative of the presence of SARS-CoV-2 RNA but does not rule out bacterial infection or co-infection with other viruses. A negative result does not definitively rule out SARS-CoV-2 infection and should be combined with clinical observations, patient history, and epidemiological information when making clinical decisions.
