Definition

The term fetal vascular malperfusion (FVM) is used to describe placental pathology that is thought to result from an obstruction in fetal blood flow that could result from a number of conditions (eg, umbilical cord lesions, hypercoagulability, complications of fetal cardiac dysfunction, such as hypoxia, etc.). [from HPO]
