Definition

An indolent B cell lymphoproliferative disorder of transformed follicular center B cells. Follicular lymphoma is characterized by diffuse lymphadenopathy, bone marrow involvement, splenomegaly and less commonly other extranodal sites of involvement. [from HPO]

Follicular non-Hodgkin lymphoma is an indolent B-cell malignancy with an annual incidence exceeding 10,000 cases in the United States (Bohen et al., 2003). One form of susceptibility to follicular lymphoma (FL1) is associated with a region on chromosome 6p21.33.
