Peritonitis caused by intrauterine intestinal rupture and spillage of fetal meconium into the fetal peritoneal cavity. Intra-peritoneal meconium usually calcifies, sometimes within 24 hours. Ultrasound findings may include intraabdominal calcifications. [from HPO]
