MBL fold metallo-hydrolase

The MBL fold superfamily includes the metallo-beta-lactamases (class B beta-lactamases), but includes also a much larger family of hydrolases that are not beta-lactamases at all. See also the related family PF00753.

metallo-beta-lactamase

This HMM finds the region of greatest sequence conservation shared by metallo-beta-lactamases of subclasses B1, B2, and B3. Note that proteins matched well by this HMM should be Zn-dependent metallo-hydrolases, but are not necessarily active principally as beta-lactamases.
