small protein SR7P
SR7P is a small protein, about 40 amino acids in length, translated from a reading frame in the dual-function antisense RNA SR7 of Bacillus subtilis and many other Bacillus species. SR7P interacts with enolase, which serves as a scaffolding protein in the Bacillus form of the RNA degradosome, and increases the amount of RNase Y bound to enolase.
