Study: Aedes albopictus Transcriptome or Gene expression
show Abstracthide Abstract
Many temperate insects survive the harsh conditions of winter by undergoing photoperiodic diapause, a pre-programmed developmental arrest initiated by short day lengths. The invasive Asian tiger mosquito, Aedes albopictus (Skuse), represents an emerging model to investigate the molecular basis of photoperiodic diapause in a well-defined ecological and evolutionary context. Here, we present sequences from the transcriptomes of Ae. albopictus eggs at 72-78 and 135-141 h post-oviposition, to discover transcripts involved during diapause preparation and at the onset of diapause.
Sample: Ae. albopictus reared under non-diapause-inducing (NDI) conditions, embryos 72-78h post-oviposition, biological replicate 2
