Design: The young leaf primordia from the shoot apex were collected in liquid nitrogen and stored at -80°C. RNA-seq libraries were prepared from the collected leaf primordia using a custom high-throughput protocol for Illumina RNA-seq library preparation (Kumar et al., 2012).
